Adjustable suspension arms are often discussed as if one brand or one component will automatically transform a BMW M car. In practice, the useful question is more specific: which part of the geometry are you trying to control, and how much adjustment or reduction in compliance does the car actually need?
Hardrace and Millway Motorsport both offer geometry hardware for F87/F8X and G8X BMW M cars, but the products are not always direct equivalents. This guide explains where the main camber, toe and trailing-arm options fit into a road or track alignment package.
Rear camber and rear toe do different jobs
Rear camber influences tyre contact and how the rear tyre works under cornering load. Rear toe has a major effect on stability, traction, turn-in behaviour and tyre wear. When a car is lowered or uses increased camber, the factory adjustment range can become restrictive, making additional arm adjustment useful.
After fitting any geometry-changing component, the car should receive a full four-wheel alignment rather than being driven on approximate arm lengths.
Hardrace 7733 adjustable rear camber arms
The Hardrace 7733 adjustable rear camber arms cover a broad BMW M fitment range including F87 and G87 M2, F80 and G80/G81 M3, and F82/F83 and G82/G83 M4.

The matching Hardrace 7734 adjustable rear toe arms add toe adjustment across the same F8X/G8X family. For a car running more rear camber or a significantly altered ride height, being able to set toe independently is important for maintaining predictable rear-axle behaviour.
For many builds, 7733 and 7734 make sense as a pair because camber and toe should be considered together rather than adjusted in isolation.
Millway F8X adjustable rear toe and trailing arms
For F87 M2, F80 M3 and F82/F83 M4, the Millway Motorsport 90460-1 adjustable rear toe and trailing arms use billet construction with Uniball ends.
The same arm can be used in the rear toe-link or trailing-arm position, which gives an F8X owner flexibility when developing the rear suspension in stages. Two pairs are required if replacing both positions on the same vehicle.
Millway G8X adjustable rear camber arms
For the newer G87 M2, G80/G81 M3 and G82/G83 M4, the Millway G8X adjustable rear camber arms use billet construction and Uniball ends. Their adjustable length allows precise rear camber setup, while the design also provides additional clearance for lowered cars.
Hardrace or Millway?
There is no useful blanket answer because the product ranges solve slightly different problems.
- Choose based on the adjustment you need: camber, toe and trailing-arm control are separate requirements.
- Choose based on chassis: the available Millway and Hardrace solutions differ between F8X and G8X.
- Consider compliance: pillow-ball and Uniball designs reduce rubber compliance, which can improve precision but can also transmit more noise and harshness than factory-style bushes.
- Consider service and use: a daily road car has different priorities from a car that spends much of its time on circuit.
Hardrace can be a straightforward way to add broad F8X/G8X camber and toe adjustment. Millway's billet/Uniball products are particularly relevant to owners building a more developed geometry package and selecting exact arm positions around their chassis.
Start with an alignment target
The best way to buy geometry hardware is to decide what the alignment specialist is trying to achieve first. If the factory hardware can already reach the required settings, adding adjustable arms may not be necessary. If ride height, tyre choice or track use pushes the setup outside the available range, the correct adjustable component becomes much easier to identify.
