KW V3 Coilovers - Porsche 911 (997) GT3/RS & GT2/RS
KW V3s are two-way independently adjustable coilovers that are perfectly suited to everyday use.
KW V3s are the perfect upgrade for your Porsche as they generate far more grip than the standard Porsche components. More grip means your Porsche is more fun to drive and safer too, as KW suspension improves traction in bad weather conditions.
KW V3 coilovers are 2-way independently adjustable (compression and rebound) which allows you to alter the bump and rebound characteristics of the dampers. Using this adjustability you
The higher quality springs, dampers and valving of the KW V3 help to improve ride comfort too. This can be by altering the bump and rebound characteristics of dampers. Your Porsche can also be made more suitable for track driving by tweaking the damper settings.
KW V3s are fully ride-height adjustable, so you can set a ride height of your choosing. Ride height-adjustability means you can improve the dynamics of your Porsche, an example of this would be introducing rake angle into the chassis which improves braking stability and helps to reduce understeer. You can also corner-weight your Porsche thanks to the ride-height adjustment collars.
Technical highlights of the KW V3 Coilovers for Porsche 911 (997) GT3/RS & GT2/RS are:

KW Suspension FAQs
KW and ST suspension are two of the most popular choices for drivers looking to improve ride height, handling and overall control. Whether you’re building a daily driven road car, a fast road setup or something more focused for track use, both brands offer a wide range of options to suit different budgets and driving styles.
KW sits at the more premium end of the market, with kits ranging from road-focused V1, V2 and V3 coilovers through to Clubsport and Competition suspension for more serious performance use. ST offers a more affordable route into performance suspension, with options like ST X, XA, XTA and XTA Plus 3 giving drivers adjustable ride height, improved handling and, on selected kits, damping and top mount adjustment.
Below, we’ve answered some of the most common questions we get about KW and ST suspension, including which kit is right for your car, the difference between each series, daily driving comfort, track use and what setup work is needed after fitting.
What is the difference between KW and ST suspension?
KW and ST are both part of the KW Automotive group, but they sit in slightly different areas of the market. KW is the more premium option, with kits like V1, V2, V3, V4, V5, DDC and Clubsport covering everything from road use to serious track performance. ST is usually a more affordable option, but still benefits from KW engineering, making it a great choice for road and fast road cars.
Which KW coilovers are best for road use?
For most road cars, KW V1, V2 or V3 are the main options we’d look at. KW V1 gives you height adjustment with fixed damping, KW V2 adds adjustable rebound damping, and KW V3 gives separate rebound and compression adjustment. If you want a fit-and-forget road setup, V1 is a strong choice. If you want more control over how the car rides and handles, V2 or V3 makes more sense.
What is the difference between KW V1, V2 and V3 coilovers?
KW V1 is the entry-level height adjustable coilover kit, with damping pre-set by KW. KW V2 adds rebound adjustment, allowing you to fine-tune the comfort and handling feel. KW V3 goes further again with separate rebound and compression adjustment, which gives much more control over steering response, grip, stability and the way the car behaves on road or track.
Are KW coilovers suitable for track use?
Yes, but it depends which kit you choose. KW V1, V2 and V3 are more road and fast road focused, although V3 can work well on cars that see occasional track use. For more serious track builds, we’d usually look towards KW Clubsport or KW Competition suspension, as those kits are designed more specifically around performance driving, lap times and circuit setup.
Which ST coilovers should I choose?
ST X is the simplest option if you mainly want height adjustment and improved stance. ST XA adds adjustable rebound damping, which gives more control over ride comfort and handling. ST XTA adds adjustable top mounts on many applications, making it better suited to fast road and track-focused cars where extra camber adjustment is useful. ST XTA Plus 3 is the more serious option, with rebound adjustment and 2-way compression adjustment.
What is the difference between ST XA and ST XTA coilovers?
ST XA gives you height adjustment and adjustable rebound damping, making it a good upgrade for road and fast road use. ST XTA takes that further by adding adjustable top mounts on many vehicles, which can help with camber setup and sharper front-end response. If you’re building a car for fast road use with occasional track days, XTA is normally the one we’d look at.
Are ST suspension kits good for daily driving?
Yes, ST suspension is a good option for daily driven cars where you want a better stance and sharper handling without jumping straight into the higher price point of KW. For most daily or fast road cars, ST X or ST XA is usually the most sensible choice. If the car sees more aggressive road use or track days, ST XTA or XTA Plus 3 may be worth considering.
Do KW or ST coilovers need setting up after fitting?
Yes, definitely. Once KW or ST coilovers are fitted, we’d always recommend setting the ride height sensibly and getting a proper wheel alignment carried out. If the car is being used on track, it’s worth going further with geometry setup and corner weighting so you actually get the most from the suspension rather than just fitting it and leaving it.
