This Privacy Policy explains how Nineteen72 Performance Ltd, trading as Template Flow (“Template Flow”, “we”, “us” or “our”), collects, uses, stores and shares information when Shopify merchants install or use the Template Flow application.
Template Flow is designed for Shopify merchants and authorised members of their teams. It is not intended to be used directly by a merchant’s customers.

For personal information that we collect directly to operate, secure and support Template Flow, Nineteen72 Performance Ltd acts as the data controller.
Where we process Shopify store information solely to provide Template Flow’s services at the instruction of a merchant, we may act as a data processor or service provider on behalf of that merchant.
2. Information We Collect
When a merchant installs or uses Template Flow, we may receive information from Shopify and information submitted directly through the app.
Merchant and Store Information
We may collect or receive:

The merchant’s name and business contact details.

The store’s country, currency, language and timezone.

App installation and authorisation information.

Shopify may provide some of this information automatically when the merchant installs or authorises Template Flow.

Template Flow may access Shopify product information where required to provide its template-management features.

3. Shopify App Permissions
Template Flow only requests Shopify permissions that are reasonably necessary to provide its features.
The exact permissions requested will be displayed by Shopify when the merchant installs or reauthorises the app.
Depending on the features available, Template Flow may request permission to:
View Products
This allows Template Flow to identify products, display product information and identify which templates are assigned to particular products.
Edit Products
This allows Template Flow to assign or update template-related product information when instructed by the merchant.
Template Flow will not make unrelated changes to products.
View Themes
This allows Template Flow to identify available Shopify themes and inspect supported template files and configurations.
Edit Themes
This allows Template Flow to create, duplicate, rename, update or remove template files when instructed by the merchant.
View Files
This may allow Template Flow to identify images, media or other files used within supported templates.
Edit Files
This may allow Template Flow to add or update template-related assets where required by a feature selected by the merchant.
Template Flow does not use its Shopify permissions to make unrelated changes to a merchant’s store.
Merchants should review the permissions shown by Shopify before approving installation or reauthorisation.
4. Customer, Order and Payment Information
Template Flow is intended to manage Shopify templates.
Based on its intended functionality, Template Flow does not request access to:

Shopify customer records.

Customer names.

Customer email addresses.
-
Customer telephone numbers.
-
Customer billing or shipping addresses.

Orders.
-
Draft orders.
-
Checkouts.
-
Payment card information.

Customer payment methods.

Template Flow does not intentionally collect personal information directly from a merchant’s customers.
However, a merchant may choose to include personal information within product descriptions, metafields, template content, theme files or support requests.
Where this occurs, Template Flow may process that information only as necessary to provide the template-management service requested by the merchant.
Merchants are responsible for ensuring that any information added to their Shopify products, themes or templates has been collected and used lawfully.
5. How We Use Information
We may use information collected through Template Flow to:

We process information where it is necessary to provide Template Flow, manage the app subscription and carry out actions requested by the merchant.

Template Flow operates through the Shopify platform.
When a merchant installs Template Flow, Shopify provides the app with the information and permissions authorised during installation.
Shopify processes information under its own privacy policy, terms and data-processing arrangements.
Merchants should review Shopify’s privacy and legal documentation to understand how Shopify independently collects, uses and shares information.
Nineteen72 Performance Ltd is not responsible for Shopify’s independent handling of personal information.
9. Cookies and Similar Technologies
Template Flow may use cookies, session storage and similar technologies that are necessary to:

Template Flow does not use a merchant’s customer-facing storefront to track customers for third-party advertising purposes.
Browser settings may allow users to block or remove cookies. Blocking essential cookies may prevent parts of Template Flow from functioning correctly.
10. International Data Transfers
Nineteen72 Performance Ltd is based in the United Kingdom.
Some of the service providers used to operate Template Flow may process information outside the United Kingdom, including within the European Economic Area, Canada or the United States.
Where personal information is transferred outside the United Kingdom or European Economic Area, we will use an appropriate legal transfer mechanism where required.

Store account and installation information may be retained while Template Flow remains installed and for up to 30 days after uninstalling.

App-managed template and product configuration may be retained while the app remains installed and for up to 30 days after uninstalling.

Support communications may be retained for up to 24 months after the support request is closed.

Deleted information contained within system backups may remain for up to 30 days before being overwritten or securely deleted.

12. What Happens When Template Flow Is Uninstalled?
When a merchant uninstalls Template Flow:

Template Flow’s access to the merchant’s Shopify store is revoked.

The app will no longer be able to make new authorised Shopify API requests.
-
App-managed information will be deleted or anonymised in accordance with our retention periods.
-
Information may remain temporarily within backups until the backup-retention period expires.
-
Template files or changes previously created within the merchant’s Shopify theme may remain after the app is uninstalled.
Uninstalling Template Flow may not automatically reverse changes that the merchant previously instructed the app to make to a Shopify theme.
Merchants should review and back up their Shopify themes before uninstalling the app.
13. Shopify Privacy Requests
Template Flow will process applicable Shopify privacy and compliance requests received through Shopify’s mandatory privacy mechanisms.
These requests may include:

Requests for information associated with a Shopify customer.

Requests to delete information associated with a Shopify customer.
-
Requests to delete store information after a merchant uninstalls the app.
Where Template Flow does not hold the relevant information, we will record or process the request as required without creating additional copies of the requested data.
14. Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect information against:
