Kyle’s BMW M2 Competition – A Precision Build with Nineteen72 Performance

At Nineteen72 Performance, we specialise in supplying high-end parts for performance and motorsport builds — and Kyle’s BMW M2 Competition is one of our favourite examples. This build combines aggressive carbon styling, track-ready suspension, carefully selected exhaust upgrades, and subtle interior enhancements, all tailored to create a proper driver’s car.

Explore how we helped supply the parts that brought this project to life.

Exterior Aero & Styling Upgrades for the BMW M2 Competition

Kyle’s M2 Competition has undergone a complete transformation with a sharp focus on aero efficiency and aggressive aesthetics. A set of carbon fibre front wings widens the stance while saving weight. These are paired with a GTS-style front splitter for that unmistakable BMW Motorsport look. Beneath that, a WRD chassis-mounted splitter provides real downforce at speed, bolted directly to the chassis for maximum rigidity.

At the rear, a V-style carbon diffuser enhances the airflow under the car, while the Pinnacle Motorsport GT4 wing with tall mounts offers serious rear-end stability for fast driving or track work. The Ben Austin titanium tips give the rear a visual and tonal edge, with heat-treated colouration that perfectly complements the M2’s aggressive stance.

Additional refinements include a smoothed-off BMW badge delete, Axceon rear reflector delete, and moulded-in CS brake ducts, enhancing both function and form. Automotive Passion front arch guards help protect the widened arches and continue the full carbon theme across the bodywork.

These exterior upgrades are more than just visual — they provide functional benefits for downforce, brake cooling, and weight reduction.

Suspension & Chassis Components for Precise Handling

For any serious M-car build, suspension upgrades are essential. Kyle opted for BC Racing ER Series coilovers, offering full adjustability with external reservoirs for compression and rebound tuning. Whether on road or track, this setup allows for a truly dialled-in driving experience, delivering sharper turn-in, flatter cornering, and reduced squat under acceleration.

The mechanical feel continues inside with a PSDesigns chassis-mounted shifter. This isn't your typical short shifter — mounted directly to the chassis, it provides solid feedback and crisp engagement with every gear change, reinforcing the driver-focused approach of this build.

BMW M2 Competition Brake Cooling & Fluid Recommendations

While Kyle’s braking hardware remains stock for now, performance enhancements have already begun with OEM-style moulded CS brake ducts, which direct airflow to the front brakes for improved cooling during hard driving.

We’ve also recommended upgrading to Motul RBF 660 brake fluid — one of the most trusted fluids in motorsport — for future track use. With the power and weight of the M2 Competition, keeping brakes cool and responsive is key.

Interior Mods – Driver-Focused and Motorsport-Inspired

Inside the car, Kyle has blended OEM quality with motorsport features. The standout upgrade is the M Performance LED steering wheel, equipped with shift lights, a central digital display, and Alcantara trim for a race-inspired feel.

Combined with the PSDesigns shifter, the cabin feels connected, focused, and ready for serious driving.

Induction & Engine Performance Enhancements

To unlock the soundtrack of the twin-turbo S55 engine, Kyle installed an Active Autowerke single mid-pipe, improving exhaust flow and producing a deeper, more resonant tone. Paired with the AC Schnitzer rear silencer, the result is a purposeful but usable exhaust setup that enhances the driving experience without drone.

Together, these upgrades improve throttle response and engine acoustics while remaining road-friendly.

Final Touches: Wheels & Fitment

No M2 build is complete without the right wheels. Kyle went for BBS LM wheels, an iconic multi-piece design that balances classic motorsport looks with modern fitment. They fill the arches perfectly and provide the strength needed for spirited driving or track use.
